Wang Jing & GH Law Firm has adopted a series of drastic reforms and renovations in management mechanism upon its 12th anniversary, including the professional management pattern adopted by partners at a recent meeting. Recently the Firm convened the Meeting of Board of Directors, where Director Mr. Sam Wong nominated, and all members of the BOD unanimously agreed after deliberation that Senior Partner Mr. Wang Jing should be appointed as Chairman of Board of Directors of the Firm responsible for calling BOD meetings, formulating the Firm’s practice orientation, innovation mechanism and development strategies. Mr. Sam Wong then formally resigned as Managing Partner, and all the partners nominated and voted for Mr. Wang Jing to also act as the Firm’s Managing Partner so as to lead the Firm into the legal service market in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In future, the Firm’s managing partner will be elected from people of capabilities and appointed based on comprehensive consideration and democratic decision-making, and will no longer be always assumed by the Firm’s founding partners or the existing managing partner.
Looking back on the past, Wang Jing & GH was established in 2008 by two founding partners who were then only in their early 30s. In the past more than ten years, the Firm has been dedicated to providing high quality legal services in Guangzhou, China. Since its inception, the Firm has been growing steadily. Thanks to the precise practice orientation and highly integrated management mode and under the leadership of founding partner Mr. Sam Wong, the Firm excelled other firms and gained good reputation and competition strength in our core practice areas. After rapid development in the past 12 years, we are ready to closely follow up with the new market trend and grow more aggressively through enhancing and upgrading the management system and legal services and continuing to optimizing the practices.
Looking at present, this year Wang Jing & GH ushered in Senior Partner Mr. Wang Jing and his elite team members. With their joining, the Foreign Related Service Group is set up in the Firm and the Firm gradually enters into international service market, as a positive response to Chinese government’s call for developing foreign related legal services. Against the aforesaid background Wang Jing & GH set the new goal of becoming a first tier foreign related commercial legal service platform in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In pursuing the above goal and vision, the Firm will build an integrated management platform and a high-end legal service brand, and enter the legal service markets in the Greater Bay Area and beyond in the world.
Looking forward, the appointment of Mr. Wang Jing as the Firm’s Chairman of BOD and Managing Partner shows both the Firm’s practice of integrated management and building a strong community of shared interests, and the taking of realistic measures targeted at the Firm’s new vision and goal. Mr. Wang Jing is well respected in legal circle and has extensive law firm management experience. He has assumed law firm management duties for over 20 years and successfully set up and managed a leading maritime and admiralty law firm in China. After China first put forth the idea of building Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in 2017, Mr. Wang has been longing for the integration of the different legal systems in the Greater Bay Area, and has since carried on studies on how to integrate the administrative and business environments and resources in the Greater Bay Area so that a common legal service system could be built up in the Area. After joining Wang Jing & GH, Mr. Wang still upholds his original purpose and mission, and decides to give a full play to his years of legal service experience and management experience into building a law firm with a wider practice scope and broader international perspective. He has turned the blue map in his mind into action!
The old days can no longer be chased, but the future is worth expecting. Wang Jing & GH adapts itself to the new era and industry development and introduces the “professional management” pattern in pace with the times. Such a move will ensure improvement in the Firm’s internal management and also serve as a springboard for the Firm to step on into expanding its business. In future, Wang Jing & GH will continue to hunt and recruit more talents to supplement our community with share interests, and appoint the managing partner for managing the Firm in a democratic way.
