Acted for a Hong Kong securities company in handling financing loan contract disputes with a BVI company and its affiliated company in Mainland China, valued at about HK$300 million;

A Hong Kong securities company signed a series of financing loan agreements with a BVI company, and the latter’s affiliated company in Mainland China provided guarantee for the repayment of the said loans. Later, due to the breach of the loan agreements by the BVI company, the Hong Kong securities company commenced legal proceedings in China according to the jurisdiction clause in the agreements, the amount in dispute being about HK$ 300 million. We were retained by the Hong Kong securities company to render a full range of legal services for its lawsuit in Mainland China, including providing legal advice on the merits and on evidence collection and preparation, drafting claim documents, attending court hearing and mediation, etc.
