Mr. Zeng Lei is currently a Senior Advisor at Guangdong Guangyue (Shenzhen) Law Firm and has over 20 years of legal work experience.
Mr. Zeng previously served in the legal departments of Otis Elevator China, NetEase, and AIA Guangdong Branch. In 2010, he joined Tencent’s legal team, where he worked for nearly 14 years. During his tenure at Tencent, he served as the Director of the Platform and Content Legal Center and later as the Director of the Compliance Strategy Center, holding the position of Level 12 Legal Expert. Mr. Zeng established Tencent's content and platform business legal compliance team from the ground up, providing accurate and reliable compliance solutions for significant and complex legal issues encountered during Tencent's business development and consistently delivering high-quality and efficient legal services.
Mr. Zeng has extensive practical legal experience in the pan-entertainment and media business field. Over 14 years, he provided comprehensive legal services for Tencent Video, including copyright procurement, investment, production, distribution, and IP derivative business operations for numerous film and television projects and variety shows. His expertise also extended to organizing sports events and large-scale performing arts activities, as well as online live broadcasts and artist management. His services included drafting and reviewing contracts, supporting business negotiations, issuing compliance opinions, and handling public crises, with projects accumulating a total value exceeding 100 billion RMB.
In the area of internet platform business compliance governance, Mr. Zeng led the construction of Tencent Group’s copyright management system. He provided comprehensive legal compliance solutions for Tencent Video and QQ, including compliance support for data privacy in apps, SDKs, and mini-programs. He also led the development of compliance frameworks for data privacy and antitrust and provided compliance legal services for Tencent Cloud business modules.
