On November 24,2021, the Organizing Committee of the 5th Cultural and Creative Industry Conference- Tianhe Summit and the Guangzhou Game Industry Association respectively heldand organized the forum on "Games expansion to overseas market" atthe Guangzhou Library.
The purposes ofthe forum were to better help online game enterprises fulfill their socialresponsibility, share the practical experience of game expansion to overseasmarket, discuss the ways of digital culture innovation and its development,explore the legal compliance requirements of game expansion to overseas market,and promote the high-quality development of the industry. Mr. Yang Jie, asenior partner of Wang Jing & GH Law Firm, was invited to deliver a keynotespeech on Data Compliance of Online Games Going Abroad.
With the theme of"Cultural Innovation and Digital Empowerment" and the main thread of"Culture and Technology Integration," this year's conferencehighlights the creative economy and the new national trend. The forum focusedon the social responsibility of online game enterprises and “games goingabroad,” from small to large, to discuss the ways of digital culture innovationand its development and help the digital culture industry advance in ahigh-quality way under the dual-circulation strategy.
Mr. Yang Jieintroduced the compliance requirements on data export through the data analysisof China's self-developed games going abroad and believed that familiarity withforeign-related regulations is also particularly important, such as GDPR andCCPA. Moreover, Mr. Yang Jie affirmed that enterprises need to deeply studyoverseas platform rules and understand foreign regulatory legislation. At thesame time, Mr. Yang Jie gave several online game data compliance suggestionsbased on the Data Security Law and the Personal Information Protection Law, andother relevant laws and regulations, thus providing the online game industrywith legal protection for data compliance overseas, hoping to provide onlinegame companies with new opportunities, promote the healthy development of theonline game industry, and create new growth of games going abroad.
