On August 31st, 2022, at the invitation of the EU SME Centre, our Associate Lawyer Eloisa Hu held an online lecture focusing on legal risks and losses mitigation strategies for foreign companies involved in commercial transactions with China.
Ever since the Pandemic outbreak, foreign companies were met with increasing difficulties to dispatch personnel to China to conduct onsite quality inspections and suppliers’ production audits. This phenomenon has increased drastically the number of quality/supply related disputes, as well as breach of contract instances or even frauds. Lawyer Hu analysed from both criminal procedures and civil actions perspectives, and gave detailed advice on how foreign companies can take action to mitigate their losses in these situations, by sharing the cases handled by our foreign-related service team.
